The Ghana National Association of Business Students Sandema Senior High School (SANSEC) branch celebrated its 20th anniversary on Wednesday by floating through the main avenues of the municipal capital, Sandema, to raise awareness about the significance of business education in the country.
Mr Christopher Akobta Adeetuk, who spoke to Radio Builsa News on behalf of the school, outlined the activities that will be carried out to commemorate this milestone and solicited the support of the general public.
Mr. Adeetuk added that the theme of the week-long celebrations, which began on May 8 and will conclude on May 13, 2023, is “Free Senior High School Policies And Its Impact On Business Education In Ghana.”
He noted that the purpose of the commemoration is also to inform the general public about the significance of business and the impact of the free senior high school programme on business education in the country.
Mr. Adeetuk seized the opportunity to ask the government, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and benefactors to provide the school’s business department with the necessary teaching and learning materials to improve business education.
He urged parents and guardians to support their wards’ education, particularly in business, in order to secure their improved future.
Some of the students who spoke with Radio Builsa News expressed their profound gratitude to the school administration, particularly their instructors, for helping them realize their aspirations of becoming business-minded individuals in the future.
It is the only way for them to have a better future in society, so they urged their peers to prioritize their education.
In addition, they encouraged those who have not yet attended senior high school to consider Business as one of the best subjects, as it is a self-employed subject in which one can use the business knowledge obtained in school to start his own business.
