Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP) Kennedy Agyapong has been urged by a volunteer group for him to leave the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and run as an independent in the 2024 elections.
They contend that Kennedy Agyapong, who ran in the recently concluded internal election in which Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia emerged victorious, was treated unfairly by the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
They claim that by denying Kennedy Agyapong the chance to lead the party into the 2024 elections, the NPP has let Ghanaians down and let Kennedy Agyapong down as well.
According to them, Kennedy Agyapong should quit the NPP and run as an independent since his popularity among Ghanaians at large puts him in a stronger position to become the country’s next leader.
