Kris Jenner makes shocking claims about Robert Kardashian Sr.’s family

Kris Jenner is looking back at a moment she says completely surprised her, the way Robert Kardashian Sr.’s family reacted when she finally had a son.

During her appearance on Jay Shetty’s On Purpose podcast on November 17, the 70-year-old mom of six reflected on what her only son, Rob Kardashian, taught her and why his birth became such a huge deal within her ex-husband’s Armenian family.

Jenner explained that from the moment she became pregnant years ago, Robert Kardashian Sr.’s relatives were openly hoping for a boy.

“Robert Kardashian Sr. came from a big Armenian family, and they were praying for a boy from day one,” she recalled.

She remembered hearing the same line over and over again, “I hope it’s the boy! I hope it’s the boy!”, along with expectations that the baby would be named Robert Jr.

After having three daughters in a row, Jenner joked she kept delivering “another girl” despite their wishes.

Everything changed the moment Rob was born.

Jenner said the family’s joy was so overwhelming that it felt like a holiday celebration.

“And so when Robert was born, it was like all the Armenians were rejoicing,” she said.

What stood out to Jenner was not only their excitement but also how quickly their cultural traditions filled her home.

She shared that after Rob’s arrival, the Armenian side of the family became much more involved.

“Because suddenly when Robert was born, the Armenian side of my in-laws really kicked in over at my house,” she said.

They brought food, tried teaching the kids bits of Armenian, even if, as Jenner admitted, those lessons “didn’t go that far.”

For Jenner, the moment held deep meaning. She said having a son helped her understand what her in-laws viewed as the symbolic role of a male child in their family structure.

“He taught me a lot about what that meant and having probably what they considered more of the head of the family, because I had a son,” she explained, describing the experience as “such a beautiful” chapter in her life.
