Kelly Reilly Says Yellowstone Ending Was “A Shame” But Hints at What’s Next

Yellowstone star Kelly Reilly has given a frank reaction to the way the hit series wrapped up after its controversial final season. The actress, who played Beth Dutton, told The Sunday Times that she felt the conclusion was disappointing and didn’t unfold the way she hoped but acknowledged it’s now behind her and the cast.

Reilly said she thinks it’s “a shame” the show ended as it did and hinted that more could be said behind the scenes if she were speaking casually over a beer. She noted the series was originally meant to run for five years, became hugely successful and “took on a life of its own,” but added she was careful with her words because she rarely discusses what happened off camera.

The actress also mentioned that a lot of events behind the scenes had nothing to do with her and that she often wondered when production would resume before the final episodes wrapped up.

Although Yellowstone has ended, Beth and her partner Rip Wheeler (played by Cole Hauser) are set to continue in a spinoff titled The Dutton Ranch, which Reilly says will follow the characters in “a different era.” The Yellowstone franchise includes several other related series and prequels, and fans remain interested in what will come next.
