The students are safe and in good hands – Lydia Alhassan on fire incident at Tower of Commonwealth Hall, UG

The Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, Lydia Seyram Alhassan, has said that the students are safe despite the fire incident that occurred at the Tower of the Commonwealth Hall of the University of Ghana, located within the constituency.

The inferno occurred on Tuesday, June 4.

The cause of the fire is yet to be established, but some residents allege it was caused by an electric fault.

Commenting on this incident on her Facebook page, Madam Alhassan said “the timely intervention by the Ghana National Fire Service is commendable here at Commonwealth Hall(Amphitheater), where the place has been gutted by fire.

“The swift intervention by the Hall Tutor and Management is worth mentioning. My children are safe and in good hands.”
