The Director General of the World Health Organisation (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has said that over 8,000 children under 5 years old have been diagnosed and treated for acute malnutrition.
This includes 1,600 children with severe acute malnutrition.
However, he said, due to insecurity and lack of access, only two stabilization centres for severely malnourished patients can operate.
He said this during a media briefing on Wednesday June 12.
