Ghana’s sensational high jumper, Rose Amoanimaa Yeboah, has won the country’s first gold medal at the ongoing African Athletics Championships in Douala, Cameroon.

The former University of Cape Coast (UCC) student holds a national record of 1.97m and has already qualified for the Paris Olympic Games. Guinea’s Fatoumatou Balley claimed the silver medal, while Nigeria’s Adenisa Temitope took bronze.Yeboah’s gold medal follows a disappointing finish for Ghana in the women’s 100m final on Saturday.
