Lawyer Joe Tacopina has expressed that Jay-Z is an admirable individual and empathizes with his family, who have also been affected by the lawsuit.
In December of last year, an anonymous woman brought a lawsuit against Diddy and later amended it to include Jay-Z. She claimed they sexually assaulted her at a party back in 2000 when she was just 13. Both Diddy and Jay-Z firmly denied these allegations, with Jay-Z accusing the woman’s lawyer, Tony Buzbee, of attempting to blackmail them.
Not long after, the court dismissed the suit with prejudice, which means it can’t be refiled. Jay-Z released a statement through Roc Nation, asserting, “This civil suit was without merit and never going anywhere. The trauma that my wife, children, loved ones, and I have endured can never be dismissed.” In a further legal move, he filed a defamation lawsuit against both the woman and Buzbee.
In a recent interview with VladTV, attorney Joe Tacopina, known for his work with high-profile clients like Michael Jackson and Donald Trump, shared his perspective on the situation. “Jay-Z is a remarkable person,” Tacopina remarked. “People might not know him well, but he’s truly exceptional. With an amazing wife and children, just imagine the shock of waking up to hear your dad has been labeled a child rapist. Such an allegation is not only shocking but horrific. A lawyer should only make such claims if they are absolutely certain, as it irreparably harms someone’s life and family.”
Tacopina expressed his disappointment with the lawyer involved, stating, “Clearly, this lawyer didn’t care. I’m pleased to see Jay standing his ground, that’s just who he is—fighting back rather than settling.” He praised Jay-Z for his principled stance, saying, “He stood on principle and he won on principle. It angers and saddens me when I think about that case because it affected a beautiful family who did nothing to deserve such treatment.”
