Lily Allen Makes Waves with ‘The White Lotus’ Audition
Lily Allen, the pop sensation who has transitioned into acting, is creating a buzz among fans with her latest move. The 39-year-old star, who recently opened up about her struggles with heartbreak, has taken a leap into the acting world by auditioning for HBO’s acclaimed series, The White Lotus, known for its gripping narratives and breathtaking scenery. This revelation has certainly surprised fans, as they’ve yet to see her explore such a dramatic role.
In a candid moment on the ‘Miss Me’ podcast, Lily revealed, “I haven’t actually auditioned for anything in a while. I did put together a self-tape for The White Lotus but, of course, didn’t land the role. I guess I’ve been a bit intimidated by self-tapes.”
She went on to express a change in her perspective, noting, “Maybe now I’d be more willing to try because I feel like people don’t care as much about me anymore.”
Reflecting on her past apprehensions, she added, “In the past, I wasn’t fond of the idea of casting directors having a recording of me for fear they might share it. These days, that worry doesn’t really linger; I’m less concerned about it.”
On top of this exciting audition journey, Lily Allen has also landed noteworthy stage roles and is set to star in a new adaptation of Ibsen’s Hedda, directed by Matthew Dunster.
