Tom Hardy recently shared that a crossover film featuring both Venom and Spider-Man nearly came to fruition.
The acclaimed actor, known for his role in the action-packed Venom series, admits he hasn’t quite found fulfillment in the roles presented to him thus far. In a recent chat, the 47-year-old expressed his appreciation for the characters he’s portrayed during his career, yet he still longs for a more engaging and enjoyable role.
There’s one role that Hardy has his sights set on, but he doubts he’s the right fit for it. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, he mentioned that he would be open to doing a romantic comedy, though he feels that the genre may not align with his strengths. “I don’t think I suit rom-coms… I don’t know [why]. I just don’t think I do. But maybe if it was interesting and good fun, I’d be up for it,” he said.
The English actor continues to keep an eye out for an intriguing role, especially in the realm of rom-coms. Despite his eagerness, he noted, “I haven’t seen anything come across the desk yet where I’d go: ‘Oh, I’d love to do that.’ So, we’ll wait; I’ll wait. It’s just a yet… hasn’t happened yet.”
In the past, Hardy mentioned that plans for a crossover film featuring Venom and Spider-Man were in the works, but ultimately those plans fell through.
