Ghanaian Musician, Charles Nii Armah Mensah popularly known as Shatta Wale has expressed concern over how some female market women were arrested for selling unregistered products including drugs.
On Wednesday 14th June 2023, the Pharmacy Council and the Food and Drugs Authority together with Ghana Police Service embarked on an operation against the peddling of unregistered drugs at the Kwame Nkrumah circle in Accra.
A video seen on social media exposed how two women were handcuffed and drugged for selling such products.
Reacting to this, Shatta wale in an aggressive tweet was not happy about how the Police dragged the women.
Although he said the operation was a good initiative, he said dragging a woman like that made no sense.
“These are women for God’s sake let’s know how to run this country,” he reacted.
He added that,”Ah this guy paaa as if he doesn’t get a wife for a house. Dragging the WOMEN like they killed human beings ..Aahhh !! I bore waaaa mcheeww!!”
Meanwhile, some of the suspects claim they were not the owner of the shop at the roadside selling herbal medicine including aphrodisiacs.
“What is the sense in arresting us in handcuffs as if we have robbed someone. We are not thieves,” One of the suspects was heard defending herself.
