Yaw Buaben Asamoa, a former Director of Communications of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), was dismissed from the party for endorsing Alan Kyerematen over the party’s chosen candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Asamoa criticizes the party’s rigid approach and ‘mafia’ tactics, arguing that the automatic forfeiture of membership for supporting independent candidates may not align with evolving political practices.

He expresses discontent with the lack of genuine choices in candidate selection processes and advocates for a third force in Ghanaian politics.

Asamoa, along with others, supports Kyerematen and envisions a Government of National Unity to bring Ghanaians together.

The NPP, in response, announces their automatic forfeiture of party membership for publicly endorsing a candidate other than Bawumia
