ACHIASE DISTRICT TEACHERS AND HEALTH WORKERS AWARDS 2022

Akim Achiase District is one of the thirty-three districts in the Eastern Region. The district was established in 15 march 2018. The district has two senior high schools i.e Achiase senior high school and Aperade Senior High School. The district also has several clinics and other chips compounds. Whiles the district keep growing, the leaders has to award the legible workers in the district, soo on the 9th December, 2022 the Member of parliament Hon Kofi Ahenkorah Marfo and the District Chief Executive Hon Richmond Kofi Amponsah organised an award for the teachers and health worker in the district. At the gathering the chief of Akim Achiase Daasebre Gyenin Kenten II was the chairman and Miss Margaret Nsia-Asomani  was the guest speaker for entire program. From the speech by the
guest  speaker Miss Margaret Nsia  she said that, the covid 19 pandemic really affected various sectors especially education and health services soo the performance of the children in the district was very poor in their final year examinations. She said again that the performance that time from the district was ranked 25th out of the 33 district in the region. But with self esteemed and hardworking of the teachers the district is now ranked 5th among the 33 district in the region. She then added that, the best mathematics students JHS was from Akim Enyinam Kotoku which is also in the district.

Hon Richmond Kofi Amponsah also added that the nurses has also done great especially in the covid 19 era. The rate of death of pregnant women in labour has really reduced due to the activeness of nurses on patients.

Finally Hon Kofi Ahenkora Marfo the MP of the district also added that,  this awards is the maiden edition and we pray for strength soo we can further it to years ahead. I chose Daasebre Gyenin Kenten II as the chairman of the program not just because he is the chief of the town but his knowledge based on education. He was once a biology teacher at Oda Senior High School and later taught at KNUST. He again added that it’s the aim of Hon. Kofi Ahenkora Marfo the DCE and executive chairmen to enhance quality education and health to the district. Alot of project has been started in the district some are completed and ready to furnished by the close of the year and others to are in progress.

After the speech award was given to some health workers and teachers in the district. The overall best teacher was awarded with a citation, television and motorcycle whiles the first and second runner up was awarded with citation, fridge and 42 inch television.
