ASANTEHENE OTUMFUO OSEI TUTU II CELEBRATES FIRST AKWASIDAE IN THE YEAR OF HIS SILVER JUBILEE

On 7th January, 2024, Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II celebrated the first Akwasidae of the year showcasing Asante pomp and pagentry.

People present were members from the Regional Coordinating Council, Vice Chancellor of KNUST Rita Akosua Dickson, Politicians and Traditional rulers

This public celebrations took in the form of colourful durbar of chiefs and Queen mothers presided over by the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. It involves the display of cherished regalia and paraphernalia accompanied by traditional drumming and dancing as well as firing of musketry and the playing of drums.
