Chris Hemsworth Opens Up About Tattoos Inspired By Daughter’s Artwork
Hollywood star Chris Hemsworth has shared touching details about how some of his tattoos were influenced by the drawings of his 13-year-old daughter, India, revealing the deeply personal meaning behind the ink he carries on his body. The Thor actor discussed the story during an appearance on the SmartLess podcast with hosts Jason Bateman, Will Arnett and Sean Hayes.
Hemsworth explained that his daughter’s artwork has played an important role in shaping some of his most meaningful tattoos. One of the designs began as a tattoo based on the children’s book Oh, the Places You’ll Go!, which Hemsworth used to read to India. Over time, he decided to undergo laser removal because he was tired of the design, but India expressed how much she still loved it, prompting her father to halt the removal. As a result, the tattoo now remains partially faded but still visible on his skin as a special reminder of their bond.
In addition to that tattoo, Hemsworth revealed that several small drawings on his arm were directly taken from spontaneous sketches India made during a late-night tattoo session. According to the actor, his tattoo artist suggested that India’s doodles were more interesting and personal than the original designs they were working on. Hemsworth agreed and decided to permanently ink her drawings, making them lasting symbols of his daughter’s creativity.
Hemsworth and his wife Elsa Pataky, whom he married in 2010, are parents to three children: India and twin sons Sasha and Tristan. The actor has often spoken publicly about the importance of family and how his children influence his life and work, but this recent revelation offered one of the clearest examples of how deeply connected his personal life is to his artistic choices.
Fans have responded positively to Hemsworth’s openness about the sentimental value of his tattoos, viewing the story as a heartwarming reminder of the close relationship he shares with his children.
