A pair of aviation enthusiasts came up with the perfect way to do their baby’s sex reveal — at 30,000 feet aboard a plane to Paris.
Katrín and Anton pulled off the heartwarming celebration with help from PLAY Airlines and the flight’s crew, who helped orchestrate the mid-flight surprise. The festivities were captured in a video shared on the airline’s Instagram account that kicks off with a flight attendant making an unexpected announcement to passengers.
“You already know you’re on a flight to Paris, but this isn’t just any flight. In fact, this might be the first time in history that someone finds out the gender of their baby somewhere over the North Atlantic,” the crew member can be heard saying.
Footage shows the plane’s roughly 200 passengers each holding up a card with their guess for the baby’s sex, before panning to Katrín and Anton standing in front of a colorful cake and using two champagne flutes to cut open the confection to reveal a layer of bright blue frosting inside.
“It’s a boy!” the flight attendant then announced to the sounds of excited cheering from the cabin.

Because what better place to find out than mid-Atlantic, surrounded by 200 strangers and cake? Congrats to the happy couple and yes, of course there was cake for everyone 🎂✈️.”
