Gavin Newsom Hijacks MAGA Merch In Latest Trump Trolling Tactic
“Make America Gavin Again,” California’s governor declared in an X post.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) just ratcheted up his campaign to get under President Donald Trump’s skin.
Fresh on the heels of swiping the president’s writing style and creating dupes of his self-aggrandizing AI portraits, Newsom took aim at the iconography at the heart of the Make America Great Again movement.
On Sunday, the feisty Democrat debuted a slate of very MAGA-looking merchandise on his website, where he christened the collection “The Patriot Shop.”
The offerings included a cherry red hat with “Newsom was right about everything!” emblazoned across the front, a tank top that declared “Trump Is Not Hot,” and a T-shirt bearing an image of the governor being blessed by Trump disciples Kid Rock, Tucker Carlson, and the late Hulk Hogan.

Newsom appeared to mock the infamous Trump-branded Bibles by listing his own autographed copies of the good book, which were marked at $100 a pop but labeled as sold out.
The governor even poached the president’s signature slogan, posting a flag with the words “Make America Gavin Again” on X.
Utilizing Trumpian all-caps, Newsom’s account said, “SOON ‘MAGA’ WILL HAVE A WHOLE NEW MEANING! COMING SOON FOR YOUR NEXT BOAT PARADE! YOU ARE VERY WELCOME, PATRIOTS!”
Earlier this month, the governor told MeidasTouch he was on a mission to “put a mirror to Trump” and his over-the-top rhetoric.
It wasn’t long before the president took the bait.
Lashing out at Newsom while talking to reporters from the Oval Office last week, Trump said, “The governor is incompetent. I know Gavin very well. He’s an incompetent guy with a good line of bullshit, and he doesn’t get the job done.”
