Hailee Steinfeld Says She Has No Immediate Plans to Return to Making Music

Actress and singer Hailee Steinfeld has shared an update on her music career, making it clear she is not currently planning to release new songs or return to the recording industry in the near future. In a recent Q&A for her Beau Society newsletter, the 29-year-old star addressed fans’ questions about whether she sees herself stepping back into music.

Steinfeld explained that although music remains something she thinks about “all the time” and has always been an important part of her life, she simply does not have plans to make music right at this exact moment. She said the industry itself has changed quite a bit over the last few years, and she does not feel as creatively fulfilled by making music as she once did.

The Love Myself hitmaker noted that if she ever feels inspired and it “makes sense” for her to get back in the studio, she wouldn’t rule it out entirely, but that is not where her focus is right now. She also mentioned admiring how fellow artist Charli XCX writes about music and creativity.

Steinfeld first gained acclaim as both a singer and actress, launching songs like Love Myself and Wrong Direction alongside a successful film and television career. Her last music releases came in 2022 and 2023, with tracks such as Coast and SunKissing, though she has contributed music to film soundtracks in recent years.

Outside of music, Hailee has been focusing heavily on acting roles and her personal life. In addition to her film and TV projects, Steinfeld is expecting her first child with NFL quarterback Josh Allen, whom she married in a private ceremony.

For now, her fans may need to exercise patience, as Steinfeld’s priorities seem to be centered on her acting career and upcoming life changes rather than releasing a new album or singles anytime soon.
