Jason Biggs Says Becoming A Father And His Wife Were The Wake-Up Call That Led To Sobriety

Jason Biggs opened up about the personal turning point that pushed him to get sober after years of struggling with addiction while in the spotlight. The American Pie star, now 47, explained that a combination of fatherhood and the support of his wife, Jenny Mollen, helped him recognise he needed lasting change in his life.

During an appearance on The View, Biggs reflected on his battle with alcohol and drug use, saying his internal struggle was constant and had begun to take a toll on his ability to focus and be present in his own life. Although he said he was fortunate not to hit a dramatic rock bottom, the internal pressure and obsessive thoughts became harder to ignore over time.

Biggs credited Mollen for giving him the motivation to confront his addiction when she became pregnant with their first child. The reality of becoming a father forced him to think seriously about his future and what kind of life he wanted to build for his family. The couple, who married in 2008, now share two sons, Sid and Lazlo.

He said that while many say people should get sober for themselves, any reason that motivates someone to begin that journey is valid. But he emphasised that maintaining sobriety ultimately requires a commitment to oneself and seeking help when needed.
