Jennifer Love Hewitt opens up about battling anxiety on ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ set
Jennifer Love Hewitt makes 'surprising' confession after 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' release
Jennifer Love Hewitt recently opened up about feeling anxious ahead of her return in the newly released sequel I Know What You Did Last Summer.
The 46-year-old actress, who reprised her role as Julie James in the 2025 horror-suspense film, revealed she was concerned about how fans would react to her return to the iconic franchise.
In an exclusive conversation with Vulture, the Ghost Whisperer alum said, “All of my friends had to talk me into it. Literally up until the last night before shooting, they were like, ‘You know you’re going tomorrow, right?’”
Reflecting on the source of her anxiety Hewitt admitted, “What people were going to say about how much older I would seem than when I was 18. That’s literally the only thing I was anxious about.”
Later, during a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the Heartbreakers star confessed that she was sceptical about her ability to portray the character after such a long hiatus.
Speaking to the outlet, she shared, “I was hesitant at first. I wanted to make sure that she fit into the movie in the right way and that there was a reason for her to come back besides just the 90’s nostalgia moment. I wanted her part in the movie to matter and for the audience to feel like they were proud of who she has become.”
Despite her concerns, fans embraced Hewitt’s return as Julie James.
For the unversed, I Know What You Did Last Summer was released on Thursday, July 17.
