Justin Timberlake’s DWI Arrest Video Released Despite Legal Battle
Authorities in the United States have released bodycam footage of Justin Timberlake’s 2024 drunk driving arrest, despite earlier efforts by his legal team to block its public release.
The incident dates back to the summer of 2024 in Sag Harbor, New York, where the singer was stopped by police after reportedly failing to obey a stop sign and veering out of his lane. Following the arrest, Timberlake later pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of driving while ability impaired rather than full drunk driving.
In the newly released footage, the singer is seen interacting with officers during a roadside sobriety test. At one point, he reportedly comments on the difficulty of the tests while explaining that he was simply trying to follow friends back home.
Also present during the incident was Estee Stanley, a well-known designer and stylist, along with her husband. In the video, she is heard asking officers about the situation and offering to drive after concerns were raised about Timberlake’s condition.
Timberlake’s legal team had previously filed a lawsuit seeking to prevent the release of the footage, arguing that it showed him in a vulnerable state and could cause serious damage to his reputation. However, following legal proceedings and a public records request, an agreement was reached to release the video with certain redactions.
As part of his sentencing, Timberlake was fined, ordered to complete community service, and required to participate in a public safety campaign.
The release of the footage has reignited public discussion about celebrity accountability and the consequences of impaired driving.
