Karla Souza Says She Still Keeps In Touch With Some How To Get Away With Murder Castmates

Actress Karla Souza has opened up about the friendships she maintains with several of her How to Get Away With Murder co stars years after the hit legal drama ended. Souza who became well known for playing Laurel Castillo on the ABC series spoke about her continued connection with former colleagues at the Los Angeles premiere of her new project 56 Days and explained how some bonds from the show have endured.

Souza told People that she remains especially close with Aja Naomi King who played Michaela Pratt on How to Get Away With Murder. She described King as “like a sister” and said the two support each other not only professionally but also in their personal lives as fellow parents and working actors. The connection between them goes beyond work and includes regular check ins and shared experiences outside of Hollywood.

In addition to King Souza also mentioned that she keeps in touch with Jack Falahee and Viola Davis. Falahee portrayed Connor Walsh while Davis starred as Annalise Keating on the series, roles that helped define the show’s central ensemble and created lasting friendships on and off set. Souza said she and Davis still exchange emails to catch up on life career news and family matters including their shared faith backgrounds.

Souza reflected on how meaningful these relationships are to her because the cast experienced intense and emotional storytelling together during the show’s six season run. Those shared experiences helped forge bonds that have lasted beyond the series finale and into the actors’ current projects.

The friendships also reflect a broader sense of connection among cast members that continues to thrive even as each pursues new opportunities in film television and personal life. Fans of How to Get Away With Murder have noted how the show’s ensemble cast frequently supports one another publicly on social media and at industry events.
