Morgan Evans Opens Up About “Awful” Divorce From Kelsea Ballerini And Finding Strength After Pain

Country music artist Morgan Evans has shared a deeply personal reflection on his divorce from fellow singer Kelsea Ballerini, describing the experience as “awful” and something he would not want anyone to go through but also noting the strength he has gained since. The couple, who were married in 2017 and divorced in 2022, have each continued their professional and personal lives in the years since their split.

In a recent conversation on SiriusXM’s The Highway, Evans candidly spoke about the emotional toll the breakup had on him and how he felt blindsided by it. He said the divorce was one of the most challenging moments of his life, and he would not wish the pain it caused on anyone. However, he also acknowledged that the ordeal forced him to grow emotionally and discover a new kind of resilience within himself.

Evans explained that working through the aftermath helped him realise who his true friends were and what kind of support mattered most during difficult times. He said that finding hope and focusing on positive experiences helped him navigate the transition and look forward to the future with optimism.

Since the divorce, Evans has channelled his personal journey into his music and released a new album titled Steel Town, reflecting his life experiences and growth as an artist. The album features a collaboration with his current partner, country singer Laci Kaye Booth, and showcases Evans’ renewed creative energy.

While he prefers keeping aspects of his personal life private, Evans said that music has been therapeutic for him and a way to express emotions that might otherwise be difficult to communicate. He said that although the divorce was painful, the experience taught him valuable lessons about resilience, perspective, and the importance of self belief.

Evans’ honesty about his journey has drawn support from fans and peers in the country music community, with many commending his willingness to speak openly about struggle and healing while still looking ahead to the future.
