The New Patriotic Party Parliamentary Candidate (PC) for Oforikrom Constituency, Michael Kwasi Aidoo, has set the target to help the party ‘break the 8’ and also increase votes in the area.
The Parliamentary candidate is working assiduously to increase the percentage of votes garnered in the 2020 general election to 80%.
In the 2020 general elections, NPP polled 60,156 votes representing 70.4% as against 24,747 votes representing 29.0% by the NDC.Speaking on Ghanakoma morning showon Akoma87.9FM on June 17 in Kumasi with Sir John, Michael Kwasi Aidoo said, “the target is to ensure total victory for the party’s presidential candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia who has been tipped by NPP members to win this year’s presidential election.
Buoyed by his performance in the NPP Oforikrom Constituency primary, he is optimistic of the party’s victory. After a stiff contest with four contenders, he won the parliamentary primary with 666 votes.
His topmost contender, Claudia Kwarteng Lumor obtained 351 votes.The NPP’s Oforikrom Constituency parliamentary candidate said the party’s leadership in the constituency is working around the clock to achieve 80 percent target of the valid votes to be cast in this year’s election.
He said the party’s track record coupled with developmental activities undertaken by himself as parliamentary candidate and the NPP government would be used as a bargaining chip to solicit votes throughout the planned house-to-house campaign programme.
