Priscilla Presley Admits She ‘Lied’ to Land Iconic Dallas Role

At 80 years old, actress and producer Priscilla Presley has shared a candid story from early in her acting career, revealing that she lied about her familiarity with the hit TV show Dallas in order to secure the role of Jenna Wade. Presley made the admission while speaking at the 27th annual Old Bags Luncheon in Palm Beach, Florida.

Presley recalled that during her audition for Dallas, the casting director asked if she had seen the series. Although she had never watched the show, she nervously responded that she not only knew it well but also enjoyed it and admired the cast. She later admitted she also fibbed when asked if she had ever been to Dallas, claiming she hadn’t but would love to visit because she had heard great things about it.

Despite her nerves and the deception, Presley went on to land the part of Jenna Wade, a character she portrayed on Dallas from 1983 to 1988. Dallas became one of television’s most memorable primetime dramas, running for 14 seasons between 1978 and 1991.

Reflecting on the moment, Presley grew honest about the audition experience, joking about being worried she would be found out. Her openness resonated with fans and media alike as a light-hearted glimpse behind her early Hollywood start.
