Reynolds’ representative released a statement saying his involvement sprang from standing by his wife and defending her right to a safe workplace free of harassment and retaliation. The spokesperson added that “what husband wouldn’t support his wife” and that Reynolds felt he could have been even more outspoken in backing Lively’s actions.
The unsealed texts showed Reynolds criticizing Baldoni’s conduct and leadership during the production of It Ends With Us and pushing back against narratives that portrayed Lively negatively during the dispute. Reynolds also voiced frustration that Lively was not being celebrated publicly for her work on the film’s success.
Lively filed her lawsuit in December 2024 alleging sexual harassment and retaliation; Baldoni has denied those claims and sought to dismiss her case. The legal battle remains ongoing with a trial expected in May 2026.
