Sydney Sweeney Could Face Legal Trouble After Hanging Bras on the Hollywood Sign

Actress Sydney Sweeney could be facing criminal charges after a controversial promotional stunt involving the iconic Hollywood sign in Los Angeles. The Euphoria star was filmed climbing part of the landmark and draping several bras across its giant letters to promote her upcoming lingerie line Syrn, a move that has sparked legal concern and public backlash.

Footage obtained by media outlets shows Sweeney and her crew approaching the sign at night climbing onto one of the letters and hanging a clothesline of bras while cameras roll. Although her team received a permit from FilmLA to film near the sign, they did not secure approval from the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to physically touch or climb the structure or use it for commercial purposes.

The Hollywood Chamber said it did not grant any licence or permission for the stunt and confirmed that anyone wishing to use the sign for commercial filming must get prior approval. Because of this oversight, Sweeney and her production team could face legal action including potential charges such as criminal trespassing or vandalism if the Chamber decides to pursue them.

At this time the Los Angeles Police Department has stated that no crime has been officially recorded and there is no active investigation, but the situation remains under review by the Chamber and its legal advisors.
