Zara Larsson Responds To Rumours About Replacing Camila Cabello In Fifth Harmony
Swedish pop star Zara Larsson has finally addressed long-standing rumours suggesting she was once considered to replace Camila Cabello in the girl group Fifth Harmony.
The speculation has circulated among fans for years following Cabello’s departure from the group in 2016. Some reports claimed that Larsson had been approached to join the remaining members as a replacement, but the singer has now dismissed those claims in a recent interview.
Responding to the rumour directly, Larsson shut down the speculation with a blunt response, saying “I don’t do groups.” The singer made it clear that joining a girl group was never something she planned to do in her career.
Larsson explained that although she enjoys listening to girl groups and appreciates their music, she has always preferred working as a solo artist. She emphasised that her artistic path has always focused on building her own identity in the music industry rather than becoming part of a group.
The rumours about Larsson potentially replacing Cabello gained traction online after the latter left Fifth Harmony to pursue a solo career. Cabello’s exit eventually led the remaining members to continue as a four-member group before they announced a hiatus in 2018 to focus on their individual careers.
Larsson’s comments appear to firmly close the door on the speculation that she was ever interested in filling Cabello’s position. Instead, the singer continues to focus on her solo career, which has produced several international hits and established her as one of the most recognisable pop artists from Sweden.
Although fans often enjoy imagining alternative versions of popular music groups, Larsson’s straightforward response makes it clear that she never saw herself stepping into that role.
For the singer, staying independent and pursuing her own artistic direction has always been the priority.
