Actress Zendaya says that even though her life is often on display because of her career and fame, there are still parts of it she chooses to keep private and separate from the public eye. The Euphoria star, 29, shared her thoughts during a conversation with Interview Magazine, where she reflected on the balance between her professional persona and her personal life.
Zendaya acknowledged that living in the spotlight can sometimes make it feel like every moment is shared with the world. However, she explained that she sets boundaries around what she reveals because certain experiences are meant only for herself and the people closest to her, not for public consumption. She said that privacy helps her stay grounded and true to herself, even when she’s in the public eye.
“I do try to have privacy, not just for characters, but for me in real life,” Zendaya said, emphasizing that parts of her life are intentionally kept out of the spotlight. That includes personal moments, relationships, and everyday experiences that she believes shouldn’t be shared just because she is a public figure.
She also said that striking a healthy balance between her work and her privacy is something she continues to learn. Some aspects of her life will inevitably be public because of her career, but she still believes it’s important to protect parts of her personal world from constant scrutiny.
Zendaya has spoken about privacy concerns before, especially in relation to her longtime relationship and engagement to fellow actor Tom Holland, with whom she has often shared only select glimpses of her life rather than full details.
