Kanye West’s Apology Sparks Speculation About New Album

Rapper Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, published a full-page apology in The Wall Street Journal titled To Those I’ve Hurt, addressing past antisemitic remarks and controversial behavior that drew widespread criticism. In the ad he admitted he “lost touch with reality,” attributed his actions to an undiagnosed brain injury and untreated bipolar disorder, and said he was “deeply mortified” by what he had done while insisting he is neither a Nazi nor antisemitic and that he loves Jewish people.

Reactions online have been mixed. Some praised the apology while others were skeptical, suggesting the timing and its title sounded like a setup for new music promotion. A number of social media users speculated that the heartfelt message could be tied to the forthcoming release of his new album Bully.

Ye later defended himself in an interview saying the apology was motivated by genuine remorse for the harm caused by his words and not a publicity stunt for his upcoming project. He pointed to continued high streaming numbers and past successes as evidence that he did not need a PR move to boost his commercial standing
